"Selenium supplementation is an effective way to reduce excessive mercury levels. I have monitored on a number of occasions a sharp drop in selenium levels when dental amalgams were removed, and where subsequently Se slowly returned to previous levels again over a three to four week time period.
bo-se is a selenium supplement as some areas are deficient and it is needed by goats. check out fiascofarms website and itl has a map of arreas that need supplemented.
Also if you are very mercury toxic and/or have bad candida, you might find the selenium appears to cause a redistribution of toxins/metals and the symptoms can worsen and sometimes seem frightening. I would be cautious if this is the case for you and either take a lesser dose, or forget about taking it.
Symptoms do sound like a selenium deficiency, you should be able to get some at your local vet, co-op, or peavey mart. On a different train of thought, we once had a heifer with similar symptoms. The vet thought what she had was an infection in her spine, that had traveled up from a small wound in her tail.
--Chelating Benefits of Selenium= Selenium is a trace mineral needed in the body in small amounts, about 200mcg per day. However, selenium is such a vital nutrient that if it is deficient an important enzyme pathway is blocked and body dysfunction can occur. Selenium, along with vitamin E, is involved in producing the enzyme, glutathione ...
On the selenium, you should probably check with serious goat breeders in your area that have been breeding goats successfully for several years. Most of the vets in this area will say its not neccesary too.....the goat breeders with experience know that in this area, goats do much better with selenenium supplementation.
Abstract: The widespread, intentional and increasingly frequent chemical emplacement in the troposphere has gone unidentified and unremarked in the scientific literature for years. The author presents evidence that toxic coal combustion fly ash is the most likely aerosolized particulate sprayed by tanker-jets for geoengineering, weather-modification and climate-modification purposes and ...
Selenium in Counties of the Conterminous States) If your pastures are selenium deficient and the cows aren't eating enough of the loose mineral supplement, your vet may recommend that they themselves need Bo-Se or Mu-Se sometime before they calve again (and your calves may need more at weaning).
Selenium is supposed to be protective against mercury. It is not a chelating agent, so I'm unsure how it can increase brain mercury. It is not even a mobiliser. BUT, it can displace mercury apparently becaues it competes for binding sites. So in doing this, it may cause some redistribution.
If you live in a selenium deficient area, BoSe shots are practically a part of life. I am guessing that the kids that are dieing at Vahomesteaders' neighbors are doing so for other reasons beside vaccinating. There are a lot of things that could kill young kids. Thousands of goats are given CD/T vaccines during pregnancy with no issues whatsoever.
