⚠️ The intense winter storm will continue to produce very strong winds and periods of snow over all of central IA through at least mid-morning. This radar loop valid as of 835am is showing bands of light to moderate snow moving through much of central IA. The falling and blowing snow will continue to drop visibility below 1/2 mile at times, as winds continue to gust over 50mph. Today is a StormTracker 12 ALERT DAY. A combination of wind gusts over 40 mph, falling temperatures, and rain showers turning to snow showers will create some very challenging driving conditions throughout the day. A Wind Advisory is in effect today for those high wind gusts. Wind chill values will sag into the 20s, as temperatures fall into the mid 30s this afternoon, after starting out with some very mild mid to upper 40s, due to a potent cold front. Roads will get slick from any snow showers
